Hey Hannah, Alyssa, Mikayla, and Renee!!
I hear that you are all behaving true to Netripper fashion, rippin it up! Congrats on making into the semi's I'm so excited for you all! Proud, excited and even jealous that I'm not there with you all rolled into one. I can't wait to hear about your next game....

A yellow card in the first few minutes Hannah? If anyone took a picture of that - let's frame it!!!

I can't wait to see everyone's moves that all of this soccer playing will bring! And hear all about your stories, we should have get together when you all get home to look at all of the pictures and hear all about it!

Good Luck! Thinking of you all and wishing I was there!

Love,
Coach Stacy

Kapitan Rachel!!!

Hey girl! What a great experience! ODP missed you!

The ODP girls who went to Stockton and some were a bit jealous of you but they missed you anyway. Molly McCool made the regional team even though she wasn't there, but it is Molly so that was an easy pick. 6 other of your teammates made regional holdovers!!! Courtney has been re-assigned to the US National Team and Ana is on the Columbia National Team. Mikhail also made the US National Team for the boys.

The 2009 coaches were announced and Laura Schott was named the '92G Head Coach and Andrew Donaldson is the Asst. Coach.

No one was surprised your charachter elevated you above all the drama. Coach Gus said he expects you to lead, on the field and off, and is proud of the way you have handled yourself! He also said your training starts as soon as you get back. LOL

Remember, get pictures and contact information of your Swedish friends. Plan on visiting them and invite them here.

Take care of your ankle!!! You have a women's tournament playing with the Warner-Pacific College team next week and Utah Force wants you for a Showcase tournament at the end of the month. (You thought you were done traveling?!)

Your cat is being a wench!

We all miss you!

Your Kapitan, et. al. !

Today is a sightseeing day.
The whole group is going to take the train the Skagen .. the tip of Denmark to see where the two oceans meet.
We have been told that there are only 2 places in the world that has this phenonmenon.

The players are tired from the two weeks of very intense soccer so this is a well earned rest. They are a tight knit group now ... which is very nice to see.

Tomorrow, we go back on the ferry to Gothenberg .. and games startrs Monday .

More pictures to come.

Jess & Georgi

Hi Chy:)
Well it's obvious that Daddy and I miss you, but so do your very good friends and teammates, Jess and Georgi. Jess and Georgi came over yesterday afternoon, they made nachos, swam with Daddy, boy was that hilarious. They brought us frozen yogurt, so we came in from the swim at 9:00 PM, had our dessert and YES they spent the night. Our house is to quiet so this was good. I had to go to bed, work you know, but daddy and the girls slept in your room and watched scary movies in your honor. The girls on the beds and your dad on the floor.
Let us know how the first day of tournament was, oh heck by now you are into the secod day!!
Ok, just wanted to share what's going on at home and how much we ALL miss you. You have great friends, don't lose track of that. One of those is right there with you, say HI to NIKI!!
Love you to the moon and beyond.
XOXOXOXOX Mommy

Niki, keep her on the straight and narrow:)))

Love you both!

Good Luck in Dana Cup Tournaments, Chy I am hoping you are improving your soccer skills and not social skills:)

good luck

Hi Megan and all NSA players

Good luck in the Dana Cup. We will see you Wednesday night in Fredericshavn.

Love Daddy, Mommy and Scotty

Hey Bug GOOD LUCK

Bug loved your blog. I must have missed the part that said how much you missed us especially Jonathan! Chin up....you'll do great at keeper. Maybe practice those penalty shots. Just wish for offense and you'll be fabulous!! Nana says hi and Jonathan is not sure what to do with you gone. Karlie says hi too. Keep us posted about the Dana Cup. Quinn will delver the goods to you when he arrives so you can keep your icecream fund fresh.

Love Ya, US!!!

Kenno's Mom...

Hi Kenno.....
We made it back from R-Ranch, we had a blast, there was a talent show with Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Mike singing, Geoff and George sang with Luke and Mason as the back up singers, Aunt Kathy and Liz also sang. Taylor and five others did a Spice girls song. There was plenty river rafting along with the annual games...Sounds like your new found friends and you are having a wonderful time. I think Taylor grew another inch. Sorry I missed your call, would love to hear your voice. I go back to work on Tuesday. We miss you and want most of all for you to enjoy this wonderful experience. PS I did a cartwheel for you :-)

Ferry , Gothenberg to Frederickshavn
The last few days at the club house were awesome, we had trainings and we also went to the beach. It was a lot of fun and I am happy I went with my friends ( Megan, Makenzie and Natasha.) When we went to go wash our clothes it was very boring until my other friend arrived (Kenno). She laid down and put the clothes on her back and slide on the floor. It was a lot of fun to watch!!
~Kelsey!!!

We got to go to the beach yesterday. It was lots of fun!!! Me, Natasha, Megan, Kelsey all jumped off the dock. The water was freezing and it was very salty water. The training was very hard but it was fun. I made some new Swedish friends at the camp!! I am home sick and I miss my mom and dad

July 6, 2008
So far being in Europe has been really fun and something different. It takes time to getting used to but over all its all great! Right now we are taking a ferry to Denmark from Sweden. The weather is beautiful here! Its really different from back home. Its like literally ALWAYS bright here. Training was pretty tiring. The other day I got 12 hours of sleep because I was so tired. Me and the other 3 girls from Hawaii went to a Swedish wedding yesterday and danced hula with professional NHL hockey players from Sweden that played for New York and Texas, for the bride and groom . The bride’s dad was actually the guy who started the Gothia and Dana cup. I also ate deer for the first time EVER! It was pretty good if you ask me. The meat was just pretty tender. The Swedish girls here are really nice and friendly. They’ve been trying to teach us how to speak their language; but it is really hard! I am with shay right now on the ferry eating ice cream! Which is soooooo good! We can’t wait for the tournament to start but we are also really really nervous. This is the 25th year that this tournament has been going on and its really big! They’re expecting about 25,000 people or more! So that’s also making me really nervous! I can’t wait to have the opening ceremony and meet all the teams coming. I really miss Kauai though; the nice beaches and basically everything and everyone; especially my family. I miss you guys and can’t wait to come home! Love you all and hope you guys are having fun too!

July 6, 2008
I’m sitting on the ferry right now with Lisa. We left Sweden and are now going to Denmark for the Dana Cup. We trained for the past week and it wasn’t as bad as I thought, but it was still super tiring, AND hot! I met some Swedish girls who are really friendly. I listen to them talk and I don’t even attempt to speak it too. It’s way too hard. Last night was an additional ‘experience of a lifetime’. Me, Lisa, Noe, and Nina were asked to dance Hula for a Swedish couple that Fred knew. The daddy of the bride was the person who started the Dana and Gothia cup J We ate a really fancy dinner, Lisa & Nina got deer and I tried a bite of it. It was alright, the meat was really really soft. I ordered a steak and it was good! Then we got ready and went up to perform and 4 or 5 professional NHL Swedish players from Texas and New York came up and danced with usJ It was super funny, they didn’t know what they were doing. Oh, THE ICECREAM!!! It is seriously like, the BEST ice cream I EVER ate in my LIFE! The flavors are nothing fancy.. It’s not a Kauai Pie or Kona Mud Pie, but the ice cream is CREAMy. J I love it. But yeah, I’m looking forward to the Opening Ceremony and playing actual games. Kauai, I miss it and everything and everyone on it.
Shaylin<3333

We are on the Ferry now and I am getting a little sea sick, but I will survive. It has been a long week getting used to the time change and getting use to the styling on soccer playing here. The people here have amazing foot work and at times it is hard to keep up, but I am getting there. The breakfast here is different than the ones we have at home, like we have yogurt always and peanut butter and Jelly. Today I wake up and I wanted bacon and super sugary cereal. After practice today we packed in a hurry and it was crazy , everyone just wanted to get out the door. We were cleaning and our room was the a disaster. Finally at the end the week it time to relaxes a little, but not for long because we will be soon at the Danna Cup.
Ryann

So far the trip has been really fun except for when I got hurt and couldn’t play for awhile but anyways I making a lot of new friends and some were from Sweden and some from Denmark and others from U.S. We went to the beach the other day and it was really pretty cause there were big rocks everywhere. All the buildings here look old-fashion but really pretty old-fashioned. Were on the ferry and it’s really big and nice and the view is beautiful. Now I just can’t wait to start sightseeing and playing some soccer.
LOGAN VEAL

The trip is really fun. I made a lot of friends from Sweden and Denmark. Now that I am used to the time change it’s easier now to adjust. I can’t wait to play in the Tournaments the next two weeks. The ferry is huge and it’s really nice but making me really dizzy. When we went to the BBQ at a girl named Elsa’s house they cooked the food really good. The trainings are really tiring but on the other hand has taught me new things about soccer and the different styles of play.
Hannah Collins

The trip has been extremely fun so far. We have had a lot of training but it has been fun and will work out for us in the tournament games. The players from Sweden and Denmark have all been really nice. We went to a BBQ at one of their houses. We are on the ferry right now and it is so huge! I am getting a light headed feeling right now so it is really hard to focus on things. Well we have been shopping and getting candy which is super cool. I bought some Swedish chocolate today at the store and it is really good. I am learning lots of new things here like moves and many other plays. I have been having such a great time.
Alyssa Bertuleit

Wow this trip has been a blast so far! The training has been tough with five hours every day. I know our hard work with pay off in the tournaments in the next two weeks. I love playing with NSA because the play is so simple. The food and candy is amazing. I am getting super homesick and I still have two more weeks. I miss my family, pets, and friends a ton. The tournaments are going to be great with like two games every day and getting to play with our new Swedish and Danish friends. I can’t wait!!

Mikayla Vasquez

I have a totally awesome time here in Europe. Since this is my second time I already know most of the ropes but I still have a ton to learn. So far it has just been a ton of training and hanging out with new and old friends. This year we are having two sessions a day. One at 9:00-12:00 and a second at 2:00-4:00. We have been staying at this really nice soccer club called Billdal. I shared a room with all of the Netrippers on the trip, plus kids from elite and this one girl who I met from Oklahoma names Logan. We immediately became great friends. I am going to be playing for three teams, but unfortunately I have to play keeper for at least one team which totally sucks because I already have to play a ton of keeper for my regular team. I have made so many new friends this trip. Many of them are from other countries. I have this one friend named Elsa, she is from Sweden and she is really funny, nice and just a great person. On the 4th of July, we went to her house for this amazing bbq. I had so much Swedish food it was amazing. .. They are all so funny and really nice, but they are all afraid of horses which is really funny since I love them. Almost everyone here is either afraid of horses or just don’t like them. Many say that they are ugly beasts but I d think that they are gorgeous. We have been staying up till like two in the morning every day. Kennedy and I are always staying up and being super hyper. Any way I think that we have a really good chance at winning the tournaments this year. Hopefully we win Dana Cup and Gothia Cup this year because I really want to hold those trophies. O well these next two week s are going to be totally awesome and a ton of fun. This is going to be totally awesome and I can’t wait to kick all of these Europeans butts in futbol!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JJ

Mackenzie SpaichJJ

This is Tyler Nelson. We arrived in Europe five days ago. After 24 hours of flying and bus rides we arrived at the complex where we would be staying for the rest of the week. We saw four Danish kids named Henrik, Mikkel, Thomas, Jan, and we thought they were Swedish, we got to know them over the next few days and found out they were very entertaining. I’ve been kicked in the head twice so far, hopefully that’s it but I’m keeping a tally going to see how many times I can get hit without being knocked out. In the few days that we’ve been here some relationships have formed between three of the guys and three of the girls. And while we are on the boat they found a way into the storage compartments….just kidding… Anyway we are having fun, sorry I haven’t called you mom, and now I’m going to dance in the rain

Hmmmm… what can I say? We’ve been here for like 5 days and it’s been fun so far. Kelsey Chey, are like the only girls hanging out with the guys it s hilarious. Of course there has been some drama and some well……. Other stuff happening! Hahah wow good times . I’m so pumped for the tournaments you have no idea. Hhaha well……. Ima go do stuff later
-niki romero :]

Thanks for the informative posts...

Now...we know you're all very *busy* learning more advanced soccer skills....shopping at European malls and I'm pretty sure goofing at all the *hot* guy players...BUT...for those of us back here in the states, can we PLEASE see some photos of what we're missing?

Some of us also have webcams at the ready so please think about throwing us a bone OK?

Other than that, just keep having a great time and have tons of fun.

That's all I have to say about that.

Louie in Las Vegas

July 52008

July 6, 2008
Morning training was light .. scrimmage, play , set plays .
Then it is off to lunch , clean up and depart to the ferry for Frederickshavn.

July 5 2008
Players trained in the morning 11-0; 11-2; 11-4; 11-6; 11-8;…to try to tie the NSA style together on the full field. We can definitely see improvement from the all the players, US, Danish and Swedish alike.
In the afternoon, the whole contingent went to the Beach where the Hovas club house is … the boys were quite content sitting and watching, the girls actually went into the water.
Christina, Lisa, Alexa and Shaylin had a special treat. They totally surprised the wedding party of Karin Ivarsson and Magnus with the Hukelau hula performance (Sven Ivarsson is the founder of Gothia Cup and the Director of Dana Cup). A few famous hockey players who plays with the NHL NY Rangers, Dallas, the National team of Sweden joined them to dance the Hula. They tried wild deer meat at the fancy restaurant and saw the country side of Sweden.

Best Wishes from Coach Terry

Hello NSA Family, players and friend.
This is Terry Mott former NSA Eurotour Coach and hope you all are having a wonderful and eventful time that will last forever.
I been thinking about all of you and wishing you all the best on this year's Eurotour!
I hope to join up with NSA for next year's tour. I am already lining up boys and girl players for next year. Wow!!! How I miss you guys; boo... hooo.. sob... sob.... : - (
And Sweden my second home. Thanks a million, to your host for providing POSITIVELY OUTRAGEOUS SERVICE AND HOSPITALITY -- it is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.
So keep up the good work. You not only represent your local hometown but you represent the best of America. I always loved it when we won; time and time again the best group to represent their country during the opening ceremonies, each time the host tournament played the star spangled banner, and when we marched into the stadiums.
Here’s wishing you many happy, productive friendships with our spirted NSA family!

July 4 2008

July 4 2008
We trained in the morning on how to win the ball as a team . pressure squeeze, support, rotate, run straight back. Brad also gave the goal keepers some pointers.
In the afternoon, everyone went to the Mall, to the ATM to get Swedish Currency and did what kids do at malls.
Brad and Kevin has been doing all the cooking and the players have been eating well … it is nice to see that there aren’t much leftovers.
We scrimmaged again at around 5pm before dinner.
All the NSA players, regardless of country of origin are getting along great …. Adam Kling (NSA player from 2007, who stayed in Hawaii the past 6 months with Dillon, came and took Dillon to his home for dinner) .
We have also invited Lisa Bratt, who was an NSA player from Billdal in 1999 (presently on Billdal’s women’s team) to join us at Dana Cup as staff. So this year, we have Elizabeth Serra Hsu (NSA players since she was 6) and Lisa Bratt as staff. It is nice for us slightly mature coaches :-) to have players, now young adults come to be part of staff.

We have also distributed the uniforms to the Swedish and Danish players , now they feel like one club.

The weather has been great, even hot at times. We have made available Skype for all to call home .. so hopefully everyone has done that.

Coach Fred

Good Luck in the Dana Cup, Peanut!

Kelsey -

We were very happy to hear from you this morning. We celebrated the 4th of July at Lake Tahoe with many friends, including Doug, Louise and Eric from Montreal. We thought of you many times today and shared your stories of the fun you are having in Europe. We're really glad that you're having such a great time and learning as much as you are. Continue to train hard and learn as much as you can. All your hard work will pay off in the tournament games. Good luck in the Dana Cup. Daddy is really looking forward to seeing you in a week when he gets there.

With all our love,
Chad, Mommy, Daddy & Sassy

ATM Card gone bad

Hello, NSA parents my daughters ATM Card is not working eventhough the bank said it would. If there is any Reno Parents heading to the Dana Cup in the next few days could you let us know, we would like to touch base with and maybe have you take another card with you. If not no worries there is FED EX.

July 3 2008

July 3, 2008
All is well.
We have been having 2 training sessions per day 9 – 12 , then 2 -4 focusing on teaching the NSA style of play…
Attacking: 3 to the ball, play possession, play in the mid third, go into the attacking third via through passes to score..
With 60 players at camp, it has been a lot of fun …and a lot of teaching moments since players come from a variety of backgrounds.
Bjorn , the new president of Billdal invited the NSA group to his home for a BBQ in the evening. Players learn that walking is a good mode of transportation !.
The food was great, they bounced on trampolines, played volleyball, swing from trees and in general, were a group of well behaved kids having lots of fun.
Many thanks Bjorn and family.
We are working on loading the hundreds of pictures taken so far for all to see.

1st Travel day

It was really exciting to finally meet up with the whole group at JFK airport, New York, we have people flying from Kauai, from Vegas, from Reno, from Oregon, from Oklahoma, from CA.
The NSA red polo shirts made it very easy for us to keep the group identified. Jim Finley has been busy video taping; all the supporters have their EUROTOUR shirt on; we took a group picture, then it was off to the gate.......
The NSA travel motto is "HURRY UP ...and WAIT"

Flight was uneventful to Copenhagen, with a stop in Iceland. Everyone got their Iceland stamp on the passport. We arrived at around 12.45 local time.
The bus picked us up from the airport and took us to the Tivoli area and the shopping street so we can get some Danish money and lunch. After that we drove to Billdal club house ... the kids were all very tired on the bus. People are realizing a Burger King meal is over $12.00 !

Billdal's new president Bjorn, Sally Ryding and her Mom (last year's NSA player) plus a few of the Billdal players greeted us at the club house. It did not take long for the players to get a new spurt of energy. They were out playing soccer on their own till way past 10 pm.

Tomorrow, we begin training at 9am.

need sleep now...
